Kuala Lumpur, 10th March 2023 – MBits Digital Sdn Bhd and the Malaysian Red Crescent Society (MRCS) have officially signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to advance the digitalization of MRCS and foster its active role in Malaysia's digital economy.
The MoU, signed by Tuan Haji Hakim bin Haji Hamzah, Secretary General of MRCS, and Saraleana Nattaya Azmi, CEO & Founder of MBits Digital Sdn Bhd, marks the beginning of a strategic collaborative partnership.
Under this agreement, MRCS will distribute LIFE* simcards to all its volunteers, while MBits will digitalize BSSM by providing a channel on the Get Play OTT platform, educating the public about various situations faced during natural disasters and the necessary steps to overcome them.
The signing ceremony was graced by the presence of YTM Dato’ Seri DiRaja Tan Sri Tunku Puteri Intan Safinaz binti Almarhum Sultan Abdul Halim Mu’adzam Shah, Tunku Temenggong Kedah, National Chairperson of MRCS, and YAM Tunku Naquiyuddin Ibni Almarhum Tuanku Ja'afar, Tunku Laksamana Negeri Sembilan, Chairman of MBits Digital Sdn Bhd. Distinguished members from both organizations and the Management team of MBits Digital Sdn Bhd were also in attendance.
The primary focus of this collaboration is to enhance MRCS's digital capabilities to improve communication with volunteers and strengthen support and initiatives for humanitarian aid. MBits will further provide insights on addressing technological and digital challenges faced by MRCS, offering advice on digital management, development, and future perspectives on digitalization.
Ms. Saraleana stated, "This agreement is a significant step towards fostering the development of the Malaysian humanitarian sector, contributing to the transformation and growth of the Malaysian economy."
