VersaThai, a captivating celebration of Thai Fashion & Culture, made a resounding impact in Malaysia. In a dynamic collaboration with the Department International Trade Promotion Thailand (DITP), the VersaThai Fashion Show dazzled audiences, streaming LIVE on the GetPlay app on Monday, 12th September 2022 at 7 pm.
Under the auspices of the Department of International Trade Promotion, Ministry of Commerce, Thailand, DITP Malaysia organized the VersaThai fashion show as part of the 'Top Thai Fashion Brands 2022' project, in association with esteemed Thai designer brands. This momentous occasion marked a 'new phenomenon' in the Malaysian fashion landscape.
Inspired by the concept of Versatility, VersaThai embodies the diversity and fluidity of Thai fashion, allowing seamless blending and mixing (Mix-Match) with every lifestyle. The runway at Zepp Kuala Lumpur witnessed a showcase of 11 renowned Thai designer brands, including Heritage, Clothear Vestiaire, Varithorn Boutique, Black Sugar, MIRAH, Siri Dress House, SC Grand: Circular, De Quarr, BWILD ISAN, YANO, SHU, and Scholl.
Gracing the event were esteemed guests, including H.E. Chainarong Kirayutwong, Ambassador of Thailand to Malaysia, Mrs. Nongyao Jirundorn, Director of Tourism Authority of Thailand, Kuala Lumpur Office, Mr. Worawan Wanwil, Minister Counsellor and Director of DITP Malaysia, alongside representatives from top department stores, importers, potential buyers, celebrities, and media, who were thrilled to witness this grand affair.
Adding to the enchantment, the VersaThai fashion show featured stellar performances by talented Thai artists. Keng Tachaya, renowned from The Voice Thailand, enthralled the audience with an exclusive show, accompanied by Khun Ice, the fiddle player, and Khun Natapong, the violinist from GIS Institute. DJ Jillion kept the energy soaring throughout the show.
VersaThai served as a significant milestone for DITP Malaysia's efforts to promote Thai fashion in international markets, bolstering the presence of Thai fashion designers and enabling them to showcase their brand names in a global arena. The event saw an immediate turnover of 15.6 million baht, surpassing the target of 12.5 million baht within a year.
